On this day myself and a friend walked the trackbed of the Tanat Valley Railway from Blodwell Junction towards Llanyblodwell. As the river bridge over the Tanat is missing, this was as far as we could walk. Please note that this area is private property and there is no access for anyone. I must thank the Williams Family who own this section of trackbed for allowing us to walk their land. I've also walked the Old Potts Line towards Llanymynech. I've photographed and walked two sections of this railway. These pics will be added to a seperate album soon.
A view of the bricked up overbrdige near the site of Blodwell Junction. On the other side is the now Shropshire County Council owned railway from Gobowen. This section of railway is leased by both the Cambrian Railways Society and Trust.

A view of the site of Blodwell Junction looking towards Llangynog and Llanymynech. This has now been completely ploughed over and flattened. Nothing now remains of Blodwell Junction platform whatsoever. The Station and Platform were situated a little to the near right of this picture. The trackbed here is now used for growing vegetables for the Williams Family run Farm shop.

We're now walking towards Llanyblodwell and Llangyong as we depart the site of Blodwell Junction platform. We're now approaching the site of where the two railway lines diverged away from one another. To the left was the Old Potts Line to Llanymynech where as to the right was Tanat Valley Railway to Llanyblodwell and Llangynog.

We're now walking along the trackbed of the former Tanat Valley Railway to Llangynog. The trackbed here looks in very good condition. In this view cattle regularly use this section of trackbed. At least these railway trackbeds are still used for the purpose they were built and that was for transporting cattle!!!
